Winter Hats

My friend and co-worker Julia Perkins made these darling winter hats for the boys.

Jacob is Window shopping

Jacob loves opening and closing the front door to our house. Thankfully there is a glass door to keep him from escaping. Today he was in a great mood and loved hamming it up for the camera.

Halloween 2010

This time last year I was "The Great Pumpkin".

Now we have two pumpkins and a 'ham' dressed in a pumpkin suit.

First Haircut

We had my dear friend Nikki Williams do the boys first professional haircut. Jacob went first and I held him. Luke got to sit in Christian's lap for his.

School Days Pictures

They have officially had their first set of "School Daze" pictures taken. I had to snap a picture of the proofs so that Christian could see them while he was out of town....








I might add that they have officially been moved up to the Toddler room at school. No more infant bottles, and now they have a set 2 hour nap time every day.

First Vacation - Branson, MO

Here are a couple of shot from our vacation. The boys did wonderfully during the 5-6 hours drive to get there! Basically one meltdown in each direction. My parents were wonderful and rode with me so that we could take turns sitting in the back seat to entertain them.

In the top left, that is Luke - he didn't like the cold tile floor in our condo so he did the modified crawl. This is also the last pictures of the boys using bottles. Right after this trip, I changed them over to sippy cups.

Yup, you guessed it - we FINALLY have a tooth coming through!

10 months old while on his first vacation to Branson, MO - Jacob has his first tooth. Luke will have his first tooth break through about 3 weeks from now.

Luke is my particular son of the two. If he doesn't like a food because of it's texture or taste, he has an obvious wiggle n' shake that makes it clear something isn't right. We are just offering him water in the video - and he can't seem to figure out what about it he doesn't like.

We're in trouble now!

Jacob and Luke have started pulling up. Jacob is a little ahead of Luke and is basically doing it by himself. I guess it's time to put up the gates.

I was trying to capture a video of the boys sitting up, but instead caught Luke being silly. Jacob goes down in front of Luke and Luke thinks that Jacob's head looks appetizing. ;)

8 Month Update

As of their last physical therapy appointment, neither boy was rolling from the back to front. Two days later, they figured it out. Jacob is doing it like a pro; Luke has to be really interested in something to roll over. A couple other updates: * They are both mobile now. It's not officially crawling, but the push up and inch forward nonetheless. * Still no teeth, but we have some visible white in the upper part of both of their gums. * It seems like they are spitting up less! * Both are still snotty - I'm trying vitamins again instead of a daily antihistamine. Hopefully that will help them and their runny noses. * Jacob has figured out how to climb out of his car seat (unbuckled) - as in when he should be drinking his milk with the bottle sling. * Both boys are holding their 8oz bottles by themselves. We still use the slings in case they get side tracked and drop the bottle. * Jacob is able to go from the crawling position to sitting up. * Both boys are doing a great job sitting up by themselves!

The boys are now 7 months old and are doing great holding their own bottles. The do better with the smaller 4 oz, but we have them build their muscles with the 8 oz from time to time.

Mothers Day Weekend 2010 - Baby Dedication

Wow - So much happened this past weekend! On Saturday we had to go up to Millington to pick up Christian's truck. I caught a precious picture of Luke practicing driving 'Daddy's truck'.

That night we went out to eat with my parents and I was able to catch a cute, goofy picture with Luke and Grammy.

Today, on Mothers Day we dedicated Luke and Jacob to bringing them up in a christian God-fearing home.

Afterward we went to Grammy and Gramp's house to eat and play and visit with family. As with all occasions, I try to get some cute pictures of the boys while they are dressed up and in a good mood. :) To save blog page space, I have put together another slide show.

Big Boy Swinging & Updates

The boys have been making some great developmental steps these days. Just to name a few...

Twin Talk

The boys have their first ear infections. We took them to the Dr. yesterday since they were very very fussy. It turns out that Luke's right ear has an infection and Jacob has an infection in both. On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the worst), Luke's is a 2 and Jacob's is 1....but they are still not happy campers.

Easter 2010

Luke & Jacob's first Easter was wonderful! We were able to capture a couple of pictures of them with family.

The boys have defiantly began teething. Luke has been chewing on his hand for almost 3 weeks now and Jacob started with his hand about a week ago. Grammy said that she saw a tooth coming through for Jacob and Luke has two white places on his bottom gum that seem to be the reason for his hand.

Dinner at Kyoto and other updates

Last night we had dinner with Christian's brother and sister-in-law - Mike & Katie.  I was a little bit nervous primarily because the boys tend to be fussy and I didn't want them to disturb any other patron's dinner.

4 Month Check-up

Today the boys had their 4 month check-up and shots.

Both boys light up when they wake up from their nap, but here I was able to catch Jacob in the act.

I just couldn't resist getting this video of Luke batting at his gym toys last night.

They never said it would be easy.....

...In fact, everyone said it would be hard.

Jacob has a Barker/McCloud tendancy

While I was spending some time with the boys last night, I noticed another trait in Jacob that makes me think that he takes after my side of the family.

3 Months

We took the boys to get some professional pictures done so that we could have a true family picture.

We also started the boys on baby food a little early. They have been taking three 6oz bottles during the day and an 8oz bottle of a thicker formula at night. I was able to catch Jacob with a dirty 'mush' while he was eating green beans and rice.

The boys have also been doing well with learning to crawl. I will admit that they will probably walk before they crawl because they prefer to stand than any other position. Here is Christian hanging out with Luke while he is practicing his crawling skills. Amazingly - I even caught Luke smiling...so mark that down in the milestone book. :)
