I scheduled an appointment with my OB and he decided to do blood work to test my HcG levels to see if they were increasing. At his point I would have been 1 month pregnant. The plan was to test me on a Friday and then have me come back on a Monday to run another round. When we got the results back, Friday = 1969 and Monday = over 7000. My Aunt Christine jokingly suggested that I could be carrying twins....
June 5, 2009 (8 weeks) - My Dr and his nurse jokingly disagreed on how far along I was at this appointment, so he sent me for my first ultrasound and peek of our sweet baby. The first thing out of the ultrasoundists mouth was "Do you know?"...of course my reply was "Do I know what???" It was then that she broke the news to me that there were two sacks and two babies.
SURPRISE!!!
Twin A - is Luke Twin B - is Jacob
June 26th (12 weeks) - Time for a new view of our babies (which we still don't know the sex of)
August 28th (20 weeks 1 day) - Today is the day we find out if we need pink, blue or both!
IT'S TWO BOYS!!!
Here is a picture of ole' mom for posterity purposes....
September 17th (23 weeks, 4 days) - My OB decided to send us to a local "twin specialist" to have him run a full scan to make sure that the boys are developing properly. The whole appointment took us about 3 hours because they checked every inch of each boy. We got some really cool 4-D shots while we were there!

October 9th (26 weeks) - Another ultrasound
October 31 (31 weeks) - I am "The Great Pumpkin" for Halloween this year!

***This is where the fun begins***
November 13th (32 weeks) - I think that my water has broken - Dr confirms that it's a false alarm.
November 16th (32 weeks, 3 days) - I have a regular scheduled Dr appt and even though I am measuring 42 weeks in size, he is not concerned that the boys will be arriving anytime soon and changes me back to bi-weekly appts. That night I begin to feel what I think are Braxton-Hicks contractions. I decide that I will go on to bed and if they are still happening in the morning, I will go in to have them check me.
November 17th (32 weeks, 4 days) - I am still feeling the contractions and they are coming more frequently, but are not uncomfortable. The Dr checks me in their office and determines that I am in premature labor and dilated 2cm. They immediately admit me to L&D triage and start administering steroids for the boys development and anti-contraction medication to slow things down.
Once I was admitted, it was mostly a blur. They had given me magnesium to slow the contractions, but having it required me to fast and only have ice chips. After 48 hours of starvation, they had been able to slow down (but not stop) my contractions and had decided to keep me under observation until they could get the meds right to send me home on bed rest for as long as possible.
November 21st (33 weeks, 1 day) - I was moved to the anti-partum floor and was settling in and getting prepared to be there for a month so that the boys could 'bake' until 37 weeks (which is considered full term for twins).
They had finally allowed me to eat again and so Christian decided to go get me a salad from Memphis Pizza Cafe and pick up the latest Star Trek movie for us to watch in the hospital room. Half-way through the movie I have my regular need to potty, and that is when my water breaks. At this point, they pack us up and send us back down to L&D and put me back on the magnesium. For 2 hours they monitored me, but could not slow my contractions or my dilation. At 12:41, via C-section Luke Christian and Jacob Edward arrived.
